Thin solutions for compact and demanding applications
Thin glass combines low material thickness with the functional properties of glass. It is used in particular in applications where limited installation space, low weight, or a particularly thin and precise component geometry are required.
Schröder Spezialglas processes thin glass starting at a thickness of 0.2 mm and uses it to manufacture custom components according to drawings and technical specifications.
As material thickness decreases, the demands on handling and processing increase. Schröder therefore processes thin glass using manufacturing processes tailored to the material, geometry, and glass thickness. This allows even thin components to be custom-fabricated and further processed.
The available range includes various types of technical thin glass, such as D 263® T eco, AF 32® eco, and Eagle XG. These different glass grades differ, among other things, in their thermal, chemical, and optical properties, enabling the selection of a material best suited to the specific application.
Depending on the glass and the specific application, thin glass can be cut to size, CNC-machined or laser-cut, bent, printed on, tempered, or surface-treated. This results in custom components for compact technical systems as well as for visually demanding applications and modern user interfaces.
