Display cover glass serves as the interface between people and technology. It protects displays and control elements while also contributing to a high-quality appearance, good readability, and reliable operation.
Depending on the application, different requirements take priority. In addition to transparency and surface quality, factors such as scratch resistance, low reflectivity, chemical resistance, or thin material thicknesses can be critical.
Display cover glass is tailored to the specific display or control solution. Schröder Spezialglas manufactures custom shapes, dimensions, and glass thicknesses according to customer specifications. Depending on the design, contours, drill holes, cutouts, and other geometric features can be incorporated.
A variety of technical glass types are available for production. In addition to soda-lime glass and borosilicate glass, Schröder processes materials such as Gorilla® Glass, thin glass, and anti-reflective glass. This allows the material and surface properties to be specifically tailored to the requirements of each application.
Through CNC and laser machining, bending, tempering, and various surface treatments, the geometry, durability, and optical properties can be further customized. This results in custom display cover glasses, from prototypes to mass production.
