Laser Processing
Non-contact precision for fine contours and textures
Laser processing enables the precise, non-contact machining of glass and specialty engineering materials. Through targeted material removal, it is possible to create fine contours, structures, and geometries that would be difficult or impossible to achieve using conventional methods.
The process offers high repeatability and is therefore suitable for both custom components and prototypes as well as for recurring manufacturing tasks and mass production.
In laser processing, energy is directed at a specific area of the material. Schröder Spezialglas uses specialized laser ablation systems to remove material in a controlled manner and create precise structures or contours. Since no mechanical tool comes into contact with the component, the process is contactless.
Depending on the material and the specific application , fine contours, holes, cutouts, and surface structures can be created. Even very small or complex geometries can be produced using this method. The structures and tolerances that can actually be achieved depend on the material, material thickness, and component geometry.
Laser processing can be used as a standalone process or in combination with other manufacturing steps. This allows components to be specifically tailored to their intended function - from individual prototypes to reproducible series production.
Precision You Can SeeWhen Demands Become Demanding
For decades, Schröder Spezialglas has been supporting customers in industry, research, and development in the implementation of technical glass solutions. From the initial idea through prototyping to mass production, we combine expertise in materials with modern manufacturing processes and documented quality procedures.
